Even though Mainlandweb can encode your LIVE and ON DEMAND videos to stream by any format, we have been encoding most of the streams of our clients according to Microsoft's standards. The reason for this is that most of the people who browse on the internet do so with Internet Explorer, and their Operating System is one of Microsoft's. With Microsoft's Operating System, you do not have to be tech savvy, and there is no need to install additional players. Most personal computers have Windows Media Players as their default player.

Besides Widows Streaming, you can also stream with Winamp, using Shoutcast plugins. This is also very easy to set up. Most online DJs are streaming with Shoutcast.
